PASTOR

Rev. Kenny Champagne

Pastor Kenny is a graduate of Wartburg Seminary and Florida State University. He began his ministry career in youth ministry in 2008 a felt the call to diaconal ministry in 2017 when he began seminary. After being ordained as a Deacon in the ELCA in 2020, God called again and Kenny pursued a change in roster to become as pastor. Kenny was ordained into the Ministry of Word and Sacrament in October of 2023 when he was called to serve as the pastor at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church.

MUSIC DIRECTOR

Alex Bean

Alex is a native of Oregon and received his bachelors in music from the University of Oregon in 2016 and then his masters from Brandeis University in 2020. Alex has written many original compositions that have been performed by groups including eighth blackbird and Roomful of Teeth. His music exhibits a variety of eclectic influences, from the very old to the very recent jazz and classical avant-garde. In addition to his music, Alex enjoys abstract painting, gardening, brewing beer, and reading Confucian philosophy.

PARISH MANAGER

Heather Whitman

Heather is a Pennsylvania native, but has considered Reston, VA home for over 20 years. She has a BA in Psychology from Juniata College and has previously worked in human resources. A proud mom, Heather can be round in the bleachers cheering on the Ursinus College Bears and the JMU Dukes. She also enjoys reading, baking, and exploring the Reston trails.

Church Council

The Church Council is the governing body of the congregation and has general oversight of the life and activities of the congregation and ensures that everything be done in accordance with the Word of God. The Church Council members are elected by the congregation each June to serve a two year term. The Treasurer and Secretary may be separately elected by the Church Council but do not have a vote.

Church Council meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM unless otherwise noted on the church calendar. Meetings are open to the congregation unless a closed meeting is called. If you would like to get an agenda item added to a council meeting, please contact the Council President.
